Hesselby station i Dalhem där Peter tar emot oss. Cafét är öppet och Cattis önskar oss välkomna in att fika efter. Järnvägen spelade en viktig roll i skiftet mellan jordbrukssamhället och det industriella samhället. A REFRESHER DAY (AVROSTNINGSDAG) FOR TOUR GUIDES WHO GUIDE IN ENGLISH
SATURDAY 18^THMAY 10.00 a.m. TO 3 p.m. (10-15)

Welcome to a day where you practise speaking English in guide situations all day long. You will be working in groups of three or four, and you will re-group after each exercise, so that you meet as many different colleagues as possible during the day.

Most exercises will be ‘short and sweet’. Each of you will talk for about 3 minutes, mainly by way of answering a question posed by a person from one of your tour groups – asking for a clarification of something you have said, asking a follow-on question from what you have said, asking what a certain sign means, practical questions –where can I buy…? Etc. Two exercises will be a bit longer, e.g.what
will you say when you stand here (with a photograph of where you are standing)?

I will follow up the course by sending suggested answers to the questions by e-mail.

In my courses, I normally introduce a subject with facts and vocabulary, and this is followed up with
oral practice. The object of the refresher day is to get into the swing of speaking English again after the winter break, and of course you will learn a lot of vocabulary from each other just by doing the exercises. I will be circulating between the groups throughout the day.

For those who have joined my courses previously, much of the material will befamiliar, but you will be meeting different people, which should mean that the group discussions and input should be different.

We have booked the conference room at Gustavsvik from 10.00 to 15.00 with about an hour’s lunch break in the middle. It would be possible to move outdoors if the weather is fine and not windy!!

Gustavsvik and Lotta Bogaeus will arrange for a restaurant lunch this year; I thought it would be more pleasant and tastier than last year’s picnic boxes.

Bring along snacks and drinks, if you feel you will be needing them.

The price of the course is 150kr (excluding the lunch, which costs 150kr). Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan will send you a bill.

The course will take place if there are at least 12 participants and the maximum number will be 21 (12 and 21 are divisible with 3).

N.B.Cancellation:It is very important that you let me know im mediately if you enro lbut then find you cannot attend. The group division/interchanging is a complicated process and is difficult to adjust with short notice.There may also be people on a reserve list, if more than 21 should enrol.

Torsdag den 23 maj 16.30 - Biskopsgården och Kapitelhusgården i Visby

Biskop Erik Eckerdal möter oss utanför ingången Biskopsgatan 4.

Vi visas runt i hus och trädgård. Efter ca en timme förflyttar vi oss till Kapitelhusgården och fortsätter vår spännande tur för kvällen och då med hjälp av Susanne Åkeson de Paulis. Max 35 personer.
